Sibcy House, as part of the Lindner Center of HOPE will serve as a resource on mental health issues for medical practitioners, patients, families and the community.

The Center will provide a curriculum of education about illness and illness management with the goal of demystifying mental health care and decreasing the stigma surrounding it.

Patient Education

Educating patients and families about the signs and symptoms of mental illnesses and the best available treatments is the first step. Patients and families should be fully aware of the risks and the benefits of different treatment approaches. Equipping patients and families with knowledge to compare and contrast treatment recommendations is critical to their participation in treatment planning. The staff at the Center is confident that their recommendations will encompass the best state-of-the-science treatment.

A supportive family structure is vital to effective treatment. Family support really boils down to family understanding. Understanding enables families to embrace their loved one’s treatment and contribute to the best possible outcome.

Community Education
